Sailing The Sea of Life for the Hearts of Men for Christ
Mariners for the Master is the Men’s Ministry of Lighthouse Baptist Church. Mariners for the Master plays a key role in the spiritual development of men in our church and community. Our purpose is to build up each other in the faith and to serve our church and community.
Overview
Men are strategic! A survey by Promise Keepers shows that if a mother comes to Christ, her family will join her at church only 17 percent of the time. But when a father comes to Christ, his family joins him 93 percent of the time.
On any given Sunday, there are 13 million more adult women than men in America’s churches. An international ministry design to reach men for Christ will help a church not only reach men, but also reach their family.
Our desire at Mariners for the Master is to see men and families reached for Christ. Our goals are fivefold:
- Evangelize men to salvation and into church membership.
- Establish men to Spiritual maturity.
- Equip men for ministry within the church.
- Extend our focus through missions at home and abroad.
- Provide fellowship for men through various projects and activities.
Some of the projects and activities we participate in are:
- Servant evangelism
- Men’s small groups
- Fishing trips
- Community-based projects
- Appreciation banquet (men cook and serve the ladies)
We welcome all men who are interested in traveling their spiritual journey with other men. The men meet at the church every other Monday evening at 7 p.m. for a Bible Study. We alternate weeks with the Women's Bible study to allow families with small children to coordinate childcare.
